Faria Islam, O.D. grew up in Southern California. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA where she graduated with a degree in Psychobiology. While at UCLA, she had the opportunity to shadow optometrists at Jules Stein Eye Institute, where she developed her passion for optometry.
Dr. Islam continued her studies at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she received her doctorate degree. She has worked in a variety of optometric settings including community clinics, VA hospitals, and private practices. She is licensed in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and is certified by the National Board of Optometry in the treatment and management of ocular disease.
Dr. Islam loves seeing patients of all ages and backgrounds! Her primary interest lies in managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband Joel.
