A CLOSER LOOK AT YOUR EYE HEALTH

Advanced Eye Care Technology in Huntington Beach

Detailed information helps our optometrists understand more about your vision and eye health. Pacific Eye Care Doctors of Optometry uses advanced diagnostic technology to examine different structures of the eye, document findings, and monitor changes over time.

The technology we use depends on your individual needs, symptoms, and eye health findings.

Corneal Mapping

Corneal topography creates a detailed map of the shape and curvature of the cornea, the clear front surface of your eye. These measurements can provide valuable information when evaluating irregular corneas, fitting specialty contact lenses, and assessing conditions such as keratoconus. The test is noninvasive and takes only a short time to complete.

IMAGING THAT GOES BENEATH THE SURFACE

Digital Retinal Imaging & OCT Scans

Digital imaging allows our optometrists to examine structures inside the eye in greater detail and create records that can be compared during future visits.

Different technologies provide different views, giving our eye doctors additional information when evaluating your eye health or monitoring an existing concern.

Digital Retinal Imaging

Digital retinal imaging captures detailed pictures of the back of the eye, including the retina and optic nerve.

These images can become part of your eye health record, providing a useful reference for monitoring visible changes over time.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

OCT uses light to create detailed cross-sectional images of structures within the eye. It allows our doctors to examine layers of the retina and optic nerve that cannot be evaluated through standard vision testing alone.

OCT may be used when evaluating or monitoring concerns associated with glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and other retinal or optic nerve conditions.

MEASURING MORE THAN CENTRAL VISION

Visual Field Testing

A visual field test measures how much you can see around you while looking straight ahead, including your peripheral vision.

During the test, you focus on a central point and respond when you notice lights appearing in different areas of your visual field. Each eye is tested separately.

Visual field testing can provide important information when evaluating and monitoring conditions that may affect peripheral vision, including glaucoma.

A WIDER VIEW OF THE RETINA

OPTOS Retinal Imaging

OPTOS technology captures a wide-field digital image of the retina, giving our optometrists an expanded view of the back of the eye.

The image is available immediately, allowing your optometrist to review it with you and explain relevant findings. Retinal images may also provide a useful record for comparing changes over time.
